《ill-intended Praise》是分号C在2022年——生成式人工智能爆发的元年，创作的“反”人工智能影像作品。在一切都追求AI的时代下，使用了分号C过往的微博文本训练文本模型，由此生成文案素材，再经由语义与扩散模型转化为流动的语义影像，后期叠加了更多的生成、识别、风格化、光流追踪等人工智能技术。从内容到文案，从画面到剪辑，几乎每一个环节都叠加了多种AI来完成。我们有意运用当时最极致的人工智能手段，几乎所有能想到的人工智能视觉化技术都出现在了这件作品中。我们期望暴露出过度使用“人工智能”进行创作时所微妙缺少的“人”的感觉。
“ill-intended Praise” is an "anti"-AI video work created by Semicolon C in 2022—the inaugural year of the generative artificial intelligence explosion. At a time when the pursuit of AI permeated everything, the artist trained a text model on their past Weibo posts to generate textual material, which was then transformed into flowing semantic imagery through semantic and diffusion models. Post-production layered additional AI technologies, including generation, recognition, stylization, and optical flow tracking. From content to copy, from visuals to editing, nearly every stage of the process was executed through multiple overlapping AI systems. We deliberately employed the most extreme AI methods available at the time—virtually every conceivable AI visualization technique appears in this work. Our aim was to expose the subtle absence of "human" sensibility that emerges when "artificial intelligence" is excessively deployed in creative practice.

Semicolon C (;C) is a Shanghai-based artist collective specializing in new media art, interactive installations, creative coding, audio-visual, generative visuals, and multimedia stage lighting. Active since 2010, members have created, exhibited, and curated works across China, Germany, the U.S., the U.K., Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, and beyond. They dissolve the boundaries of digital art, turning code from cold rationality into infinite generative variation — crafting visual and emotional one-time encounters.
